Project: Personal Work
Every few years, I find myself trying to reimagine a scene from “The Neverending Story” that damaged my emotions as a kid. This is the latest version.

Project: “Submittan” Poster Prop
I was approached in November 2019 by Susumu Kimura, who is an incredibly talented filmmaker, about illustrating and designing two prop-posters for his dystopian sci-fi short film that he is currently creating, “Submittan”. He wanted creepy propaganda, sent inspiration to show me what he was thinking, and I took it from there. Had a blast making these two pieces (and learned a few techniques too) and can’t wait to see the final cut of the film.

The 2017 Ridgid Tools Calendar was an artist's homage to wrench that Ridgid produces. Many illustrators and designers around the country were sought out for their interpretations. For the December month, I was tasked with coming up with a lettering solution to wrap around the building image that was created by Chris Nagle. I also provided the wrench illustration that was placed on the bottom of the calendar. For more info, click here.

Out of all the research, drafting, and execution, I think the best part about the identity/branding process are having the "happy accidents" that will come across and evolve one's initial vision into something much more organic and effective.

75th Batman Anniversary Celebration
Location:
Carol & John's Comic Shop
Dropped these two guys off and a WHOLE slew of print over at Carol & John's Comic Shop to be hung up and sold off along with 20-25 other amazing artists celebrating Batman's 75th anniversary. Artwork sold and ALL of the shop’s cut went towards “Preston’s H.O.P.E.”, the charity selected for this event.
This was a lot of firsts for me. First, I drew the piece entirely on my Wacom tablet using Manga Studio. A bit of a challenge with a time constraint, but got that hang of it. Second, I took the drawing and learned how to screen print with help from Hannah and the folks at Zygote Press. Very helpful, they were!
